Nico Robin lives in the village of Ohara, a place famous for its archeologists.
Robin’s mother was an archeologist, and when Robin was just a baby, her mother left for research leaving Robin under the supervision of her aunt and uncle. She constantly abused her and made it clear that she is not wanted, and the rest of the children in her village often made fun of her and called her a demon because of her devil’s fruit.
The only friends she had were the other archeologists at their famous library, and when she was eight years old, Robin became a fully-fledged scholar.
Robin wanted to help out with the other archeologist’s secret research that she overheard about. Still, she was cast out since the others were actually trying to figure out what happened in the void history, but there was a strict ban put on that from the world government, and whoever wanted to look into it would be sentenced to death.
The archeologists found that they were trying to locate Ponyglyphs, which was a secret language that only the Opera’s archeologists could read anymore, but now robin could also read it.
Shut out from the library; Robin had nowhere to go to when suddenly she found a giant washed ashore, Jaguar D. Saul.
Jaguar D. Saul and Robin quickly became friends. After days, he finds out that this place I’d actually Ohara and immediately warns Robin that many battleships are coming because they found out about the Poneglyphs. However, they still needed proof though the archeologists were in trouble anyway.
The marines arrived, and they immediately started ransacking the library to find proof, and they did.
The archeologists were in big trouble, the battleships started to destroy the island, but they found out that Robin was an archeologist. She could read Ponyglyphs, so just after robin had finally met her mother, saul came to take robin away.
At first, she was planning on escaping on the civilians’ ship, but one of the ships also blew that up to make sure that none of the archeologists escape. Thus, Saul puts Robin on the ship he built to leave. After that, the marines put a bounty on her head; so ever since she was small, she kept running and running as there was no one she could trust. When she became a teenager, she joined Crocodile as he was looking for someone who could read Ponyglyphs and Robin was the only one, but when the Straw Hats Pirates took him down, she joined them instead of their archeologist, and there she found true friends that she could trust.
